VIVA – A total of 161,591 regular Indonesian pilgrims have arrived in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. This number marks an important milestone that the majority of pilgrims are now concentrated in the Holy Land ahead of the peak of the Hajj pilgrimage in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna).
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stated that all pilgrims who were previously in Medina have now moved to Mecca. This phase is considered crucial because the focus of services is entirely directed towards preparing for Armuzna.
The Spokesperson for the Ministry of Hajj, Suci Annisa, said that on the 26th day of operations, all Indonesian Hajj services are running smoothly, orderly, and under control.
“Alhamdulillah, all regular Indonesian pilgrims are now in Mecca. This is an important phase because all service efforts are starting to focus on ensuring that pilgrims are ready to face the peak of the Hajj pilgrimage safely, orderly, and comfortably,” said Suci Annisa in Mecca, quoting the Ministry of Hajj’s website, Saturday, May 16, 2026.
Hundreds of Groups Have Arrived in Mecca
Based on the latest operational data, it is recorded that 430 groups with 166,269 pilgrims and 1,717 officers have been dispatched to the Holy Land. Of this number, 418 groups carrying 161,591 pilgrims and 1,672 officers have arrived in Mecca. Meanwhile, for special Hajj pilgrims, as many as 11,739 pilgrims are recorded to have arrived in Saudi Arabia.
Suci explained that the completion of the transfer of pilgrims from Medina to Mecca is also followed by the transfer of officers to strengthen services in Mecca and Armuzna. “Officers move according to the needs of pilgrims. When all pilgrims are concentrated in Mecca, then service strengthening is also centered in Mecca and Armuzna,” she explained.
Strengthening is carried out on all lines of service, starting from transportation, accommodation, food, health, pilgrim protection, to religious guidance.
The Ministry of Hajj together with the Hajj Pilgrimage Organising Officers (PPIH) are now perfecting the readiness of Armuzna, starting from finalizing data manifests, mapping pilgrim movements, preparing buses, tents, distributing food, health services, to mitigating protection for elderly pilgrims, people with disabilities, and high-risk groups.
In preparation for the peak of the Hajj pilgrimage, pilgrims are also advised to start saving energy and maintaining their physical condition. “Maintaining health is part of worship efforts. Armuzna requires good stamina, so pilgrims need to manage their energy from now on and not force themselves,” said Suci.
