JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - As many as 16 students from the Faculty of Law at the University of Indonesia (FH UI) who are suspected of harassing a female student have been dismissed from all campus student organisations.

“So far, the perpetrators have been dismissed from every organisation and committee they were involved in,” said the Chairman of the Executive Board of Students (BEM) FH UI, Anandaku Dimas Rumi Chattaristo, when contacted by Kompas.com on Monday (13/4/2026).

According to Dimas, the dismissal is a step taken by the student organisation community.

“In the near future, in coordination with the faculty, an examination of the perpetrators will also be implemented,” Dimas revealed.

Dimas stated that sanctions from the faculty side are likely to be imposed after the examination process for the perpetrators is completed first.

According to him, FH UI can issue the harshest possible sanctions for such sexual violence.

It was previously reported that 16 FH UI students are suspected of harassing a female student.

BEM FH UI Chairman Anandaku Dimas Rumi Chattaristo confirmed the incident.

Dimas said the incident initially came to light when the 16 students suddenly apologised in the class group.

“The apology was conveyed by the 16 perpetrators. And regarding their status, they all admit to their actions,” Dimas said when contacted by Kompas.com on Monday.

“So actually, for us, there is already their admission; they are the perpetrators, no longer suspected perpetrators,” he emphasised.

All the perpetrators are students from the 2023 intake at FH UI.
