16-Second Embrace Between Wife and Kerry Adrianto Following 15-Year Prison Sentence
Jakarta — The judicial panel has delivered its verdict. Muhamad Kerry Adrianto Riza, beneficial owner of PT Orbit Terminal Merak (PT OTM) and PT Jenggala Maritim Nusantara (PT JMN), has been officially sentenced to 15 years imprisonment with a fine of Rp 1 billion, with 190 days alternative imprisonment.
Kerry entered the courtroom twice to hear his verdict. First, on Thursday evening (26 February 2026), at approximately 23:47 WIB, Kerry alongside two other defendants — Dimas Werhaspati, commissioner of PT Navigator Khatulistiwa and PT JMN, and Gading Ramadhan Joedo, commissioner of PT JMN and chief executive of PT OTM — were brought into the courtroom.
Kerry, Dimas, and Gading were immediately surrounded by photographers and prosecutors as they were escorted to the hearing room. Gading and Dimas wore matching uniforms: clean white long-sleeved shirts with black trousers. Both appeared listless, sitting shoulder to shoulder as they awaited the judge’s verdict. Kerry, seated beside them, wore the blue jacket he had worn throughout the trial proceedings.
Seated beside Kerry was his wife, Atya Irdita Sardadi, who immediately embraced and held the hand of the business executive and son of Mohamad Riza Chalid. Shortly thereafter, the judicial panel entered the courtroom. Presiding Judge Fajar Kusuma Aji explained that the three defendants were called so their case could be opened first for court record purposes. However, as the verdict reading for other defendants had not yet concluded, Kerry and his colleagues had to wait further to hear their sentence.
The court session was opened and immediately closed by the judicial panel with an adjournment order. Kerry, Gading, and Dimas were escorted back to the temporary holding room in the basement of Jakarta Central District Court. With dozens of cameras focused upon them, Kerry, Gading, and Dimas were brought into the courtroom once more.
The prosecutor’s office had prepared an empty bench on the right side. Dimas and Gading sat there, but Kerry did not. He chose to sit on the visitor’s bench on the left side, as he had in the early morning hours. Atya was already waiting on the adjacent bench. Kerry smiled faintly as his wife put her arm around him. They appeared to have a brief conversation amidst their anxious breathing as they waited for the verdict to be read.
After all parties were present, Kerry, Dimas, and Gading were called into the hearing area. The verdict reading began at approximately 01:33 WIB. Each defendant listened carefully to the legal reasoning presented by the judge, including a dissenting opinion from Judge Mulyono, who believed in their innocence and advocated for their acquittal.
“The court rules,” declared Presiding Judge Fajar Kusuma Aji at approximately 03:11 WIB. Kerry immediately stood to face the judge’s verdict.
