The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) reports that the number of taxpayers who have activated Coretax accounts stands at 16,963,643 as of 26 March 2026.

DJP’s Director of Dissemination, Services, and Public Relations, Inge Diana Rismawanti, revealed that this filing progress was calculated up to the end of that day. She stated that the number of annual income tax return (SPT Tahunan PPh) filings for the 2025 tax year has only reached half of the total activated Coretax accounts.

“As of 26 March at 24:00 WIB, the progress of SPT Tahunan PPh filings is recorded at 9,131,427 SPT,” Inge said in a written statement.

DJP details that of the total filings, the majority come from individual employee taxpayers at 8,196,513 SPT. Meanwhile, individual non-employee taxpayers number 924,443 SPT.

From business entities, there are 190,691 SPT in rupiah and 138 SPT in US dollars for the January to December 2025 book year. Additionally, for taxpayers with different book years who began filing from 1 August 2025, there are 1,621 business SPT in rupiah and 21 in US dollars.

Coretax activation is dominated by individual taxpayers at 15,913,271 accounts. The remainder comes from business taxpayers at 959,703 accounts, government agencies at 90,442 accounts, and 227 Electronic System-Based Trading (PMSE) taxpayers.

Although the activation numbers are high, DJP reminds taxpayers to promptly fulfil their SPT filing obligations. The government has even provided filing extensions.

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that the deadline for individual taxpayer SPT annual filings will be extended to 30 April 2026 from the previous 31 March 2026. This policy will soon be formalised in an official circular.

DJP also provides conveniences through Coretax Form for taxpayers with nil status, as well as self-accessible account activation guides. Taxpayers who file SPT annual returns late will be subject to administrative sanctions in the form of fines of Rp100,000 for individuals and Rp1 million for business taxpayers.
