16,046 SPPGs Obtain SLHS, MBG Governance Strengthened

Jakarta – The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) continues to strengthen governance of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme through higher food safety standards, the Hygiene and Sanitation Certification (SLHS), and oversight of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG). This was disclosed in the Progress Performance Report of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) on Friday, 22 May 2026.

According to BGN data, the number of SPPGs has continued to rise significantly from 2025 through 22 May 2026. The total operational SPPG so far stands at 29,225 units across Indonesia. Of this total, 16,046 SPPGs or about 55 percent have SLHS certification.

“16,046 SPPG have SLHS certification, or 55 percent of the total operational SPPG,” the BGN report said.

In addition, the government is also accelerating the certification process for thousands of other SPPGs. It is recorded that 2,646 SPPGs are currently in the SLHS issuance process. Meanwhile, 10,533 SPPGs are in the stage of preparing for certification.

To strengthen food safety governance, the government began implementing a phased accreditation system for SPPG in 2026 with categories Excellent (A), Very Good (B), and Good (C).

The report also contains monitoring data on SPPGs that have received warning letters or temporary suspensions of operations.

Based on data for the third week of May 2026, a total of 1,152 SPPGs were suspended. SPPGs can resume operations after making improvements.

“As of 19 May, the number of suspended SPPGs was 1,152 and 3,429 had resumed operations,” the report stated.

Warning letters were issued to SPPGs deemed not yet meeting infrastructure standards, not having a Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL), or not having SLHS registration.
