153 Students at SMAN 2 Banjar Miss Out on PIP Funds, DPRD Summons Education Agency

Commission IV of the Bali Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) has found that 153 students did not receive their Indonesia Pintar Programme (PIP) funds at SMAN 2 Banjar, Buleleng. This finding led to the summoning of the Bali Education, Youth and Sports Agency (Disdikpora) by Commission IV at the DPRD Bali office on Monday (3/8/2026).

“We found a fairly serious problem that has spread to other schools. At SMAN 2 Banjar, the disbursement of PIP funds failed for 153 of our children,” said Commission IV Chairman I Wayan Suwirta.

Based on explanations from the school and the agency, Suwirta said there were issues with the human resources operating the PIP fund disbursement system. “We have instructed the headmaster to resolve this, and it appears the agency’s operator was unaware of the problem,” he stated.

Suwirta confirmed that the 153 students did not receive the PIP funds amounting to Rp 1.8 million per person for the year 2025. “So their entitlement has been lost, including 16 students who have already graduated and also lost their right to receive the PIP funds,” the former Klungkung Regent added.

Commission IV has ordered the Bali Disdikpora to evaluate the human resources at the school. He suggested implementing a system reminder for students who have not completed the requirements or for operators who are negligent in their duties.

According to the school’s account, there was a delay by students in submitting administrative documents. Suwirta advised against collective disbursement of funds to avoid disadvantaging students who had completed their paperwork earlier. “Do not let the collective process for one or two people who are not yet finished delay their other friends,” he said.

Nevertheless, Suwirta confirmed that the problem was not due to embezzlement of PIP funds at the school. The issue was purely a result of human resource errors. “Our duty as the DPRD is to perform the control function. Today, we exercised that control function through a working meeting with the Education Agency,” concluded the PDI Perjuangan politician.
