PALU, Central Sulawesi: A group of unidentified people
attacked the provincial branch office of the United Development
Party of Reform (PPPR) early on Friday morning, leaving its front
windows shattered.

The incident took place at 3 a.m. local time when the
attackers stoned the office established two months ago and
located on Jl. Veteran in Palu, Central Sulawesi.

The perpetrators remained unidentified. But minutes after the
stoning at least three people riding on a Yamaha RX King
motorcycle were seen fleeing from the scene, according to eye
witnesses.

"We have reported the case to police for investigation," PPPR
activist Kisran Sinula said.

The attack was believed to be linked with Wednesday's boycott
by at least six local PPPR leaders of the inauguration of the new
party's provincial executive board.

The six leaders were accused of foiling a visit by PPPR leader
Zainuddin M.Z. to swear in the Central Sulawesi party board of
patrons. --Antara
