1,500 police officers get promotion

JAKARTA: In conjunction with the National Police 58th
anniversary, which falls on July 1, some 1,564 officers of the
Jakarta Police force were promoted on Wednesday.

From the figure, 280 of them were middle-ranking officers.

Three of them were promoted from adjutant senior commissioner
to senior commissioner. They are Sr. Comr. Carlo Brix Tewu, the
director of the narcotics division at the Jakarta Police; Sr.
Comr. Syarifuddin, the East Jakarta Police chief; and Sr. Comr.
Edward Pernong, the Bekasi Police chief.

The three were the highest-ranking officers to get a promotion
in this period. Carlo, 41, is the youngest senior commissioner
among the three. -- JP
