15 Sampang Rape Suspects Given 3 Days to Surrender to Police
A total of 15 perpetrators involved in the rape of a teenager in Sampang remain at large. Police have issued an ultimatum demanding the fugitives surrender immediately. “The other 15 suspects should surrender as soon as possible. Within three days, we will issue a wanted list (DPO) and take firm, measured action,” said Sampang Police Chief AKBP Hartono, as reported by detikJatim on Friday (10/7/2026). The rape case was reported by the victim’s family on 29 June. Police subsequently managed to arrest 12 suspects in stages. The series of arrests began on 30 June, when seven suspects were taken into custody. Police then arrested three more suspects sequentially on 2 and 3 July. A total of 27 people were involved in this vicious rape. Hartono stated that the incident befell the victim over a period of four months. The family only reported the case on 29 June 2026 because the victim was suffering from severe trauma. “The period was from February 2026 to May 2026, at around 9.00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time,” said Hartono.
