15,349 Hajj Pilgrims Have Departed for Saudi Arabia, Urged to Maintain Stamina

JAKARTA - Forty flight groups (kloter) totalling 15,349 Hajj pilgrims have been dispatched to Saudi Arabia up to the fourth day of operations for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, on Friday (24/4/2026).

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ichsan Marsha, stated that of this number, 9,884 pilgrims in 25 kloter have arrived in Madinah.

“Up to the fourth day of operations, 40 kloter with 15,349 pilgrims have been dispatched, and 9,884 pilgrims have arrived in Madinah. We ensure that all processes run smoothly with services continuously optimised,” Ichsan said in a press release on Friday.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs once again reminds Hajj Organising Officials (PPIH) at embarkation points to minimise ceremonial activities during departures to preserve the pilgrims’ physical condition.

“We urge pilgrims to maintain their stamina, drink plenty of fluids, and follow the instructions of the officials. The weather is quite hot, so it is important to keep the body in good condition,” Ichsan emphasised.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs affirms that Hajj 2026 must provide elderly, disability, and women-friendly Hajj services, as a form of the state’s commitment in Hajj pilgrimage services.

On this fourth day, the Ministry of Religious Affairs recorded developments in health services for Hajj pilgrims in the Madinah Working Area (Daker).

The Ministry of Religious Affairs also conveyed condolences for the passing of one Hajj pilgrim from kloter SOC-3, Rodiyah (68), due to a heart attack.

“The government ensures the fulfilment of pilgrims’ rights, including the implementation of substitute Hajj,” he said.

Ichsan continued that the government is paying serious attention to the health aspects of Hajj pilgrims, which have been highlighted by Saudi authorities.

“Every report serves as a basis for strengthening services so that pilgrims can worship safely and comfortably,” he stated.
