Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 15,000 food aid packages from Indonesian society, channelled through the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Indonesia, have been received by communities in Gaza, Palestine.

Baznas RI’s Chief Secretary, Subhan Cholid, expressed gratitude for the successful delivery of the aid to those in need in Gaza.

“Alhamdulillah, after a long process of shipping and cross-border coordination, the aid originating from Indonesian society has finally arrived and been distributed to those in need in Gaza,” said Subhan in a written statement in Jakarta on Monday.

Subhan explained that the distribution involved cooperation with international partners such as Misr Alkhoir in Egypt to ensure the aid reaches the affected areas accurately.

“The aid is an amanah from Indonesian society that we must distribute responsibly through trusted partners on the ground,” he emphasised.

Subhan also extended appreciation to all parties who contributed to supporting the aid distribution process, from donors, collectors, to partners in the field.

He affirmed that Baznas will continue to optimise its role as a national zakat management institution in channelling Indonesian society’s amanah to help Palestinian communities sustainably.

Therefore, Subhan called on all Indonesian society to continue helping to alleviate the burden of their brothers and sisters in Palestine by donating through Baznas.

“We ensure that the distribution is targeted to those who truly need it,” stated Subhan Cholid.
