PLN Unit Induk Distribusi (UID) Bali has prepared 142 public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) to support smooth traffic flow during the Eid 2026 holiday season. The SPKLU are distributed across 93 locations in nine regencies and cities throughout Bali.

This readiness initiative is aimed at supporting the mobility of electric vehicle users travelling between Java and Bali and vice versa.

General Manager of PLN UID Bali, Eric Rossi Priyo Nugroho, stated that all SPKLU are equipped with personnel on standby 24 hours to ensure optimal service for residents and tourists using electric vehicles. “All SPKLU have been equipped with staff on 24-hour standby so electric vehicle users need not worry about running out of battery whilst travelling in Bali,” said Eric on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

He added that the SPKLU Center Hayam Wuruk in Denpasar is currently the largest charging hub in Bali as it is equipped with Ultra Fast Charging and Fast Charging technology, which enables faster charging. “Given the growth in electric vehicles in Bali has increased nearly twofold compared to the previous year, we will continue to strengthen charging infrastructure so the electric vehicle ecosystem becomes increasingly prepared,” he explained.

Director of Retail and Commerce at PT PLN (Persero), Adi Priyanto, carried out direct inspections of facility readiness at several strategic points, including SPKLU Gilimanuk, SPKLU Negara, SPKLU Soka, and SPKLU Center Hayam Wuruk Denpasar, which is one of Bali’s largest charging centres.

“At SPKLU Center Hayam Wuruk Denpasar, we ensure technical readiness from transformers, cables, charging machines to workplace safety aspects such as fire extinguishers. All facilities are functioning well and ready to serve holiday travellers and tourists using electric vehicles,” said Adi.

Beyond physical infrastructure, PLN has also introduced service convenience through the PLN Mobile application, which enables electric vehicle users to access various travel support features. All SPKLU are connected and displayed digitally on the PLN Mobile app.

EVP Commerce and Marketing at PLN, Nayusrizal, explained that PLN Mobile is designed to help electric vehicle users locate SPKLU and check charger availability in real time. “Through PLN Mobile, users can check the location of the nearest SPKLU and see available chargers in real time. There is also a Trip Planner feature to help plan electric vehicle journeys, as well as an EV queue feature to identify vacant chargers so waiting time can be more efficient,” said Nayusrizal.

PLN urges users experiencing difficulties to contact the special SPKLU service hotline at 0877-111-2123.
