A joint team from the Attorney General’s Office Intelligence Task Force for Reform and Innovation (Satgas SIRI), the East Java High Prosecutor’s Office, and the Surabaya District Prosecutor’s Office has arrested fugitive convict Bo Feng Mei, alias Henny Melany, who had been on the wanted list since 2012.

Head of Intelligence at the Surabaya District Prosecutor’s Office, Putu Arya Wibisana, stated in Surabaya on Thursday that the convict was apprehended on Wednesday at around 9:30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time in the Kertajaya Indah area of Surabaya.

‘Prior to her arrest, the convict had failed to answer the executor prosecutor’s summons on three separate occasions,’ said Putu.

He explained that the arrest ends Bo Feng Mei’s years-long evasion of a legally binding court ruling.

‘At that time, the prosecutor was unable to carry out the execution due to resistance from several parties who were escorting the convict, leading to a commotion within the court premises,’ he stated.

Following that incident, the convict’s whereabouts were unknown, and she became a fugitive sought by law enforcement officials.

Based on a Supreme Court decision, Bo Feng Mei was found legally and convincingly guilty of committing a continuing criminal act of embezzlement.

The convict was sentenced to one year in prison.

The convict has now been placed in the Surabaya Class I Detention Centre in Medaeng to serve her sentence in accordance with the court ruling.

Putu stressed that this arrest is part of the prosecutor’s office’s commitment to executing legally binding court decisions and ensuring that no convict evades legal accountability.
