14 Suspected UTBK Impersonators Arrested in Surabaya, Including Doctors and Civil Servants

According to detikjatim on Friday (8/5/2026), the 14 suspects include PIF (21), a student; IKP (41), a private sector employee; FP (35), a private sector employee; BPH (29), a doctor; DP (46), a doctor; MI (31), a doctor; RZ (46), a trader; HRE (18), a student; BH (55), an entrepreneur; SP (43), a private sector employee; SA (40), a private sector employee; ITR (38), a non-permanent civil servant; and CDR (35), a non-permanent civil servant.

Surabaya Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Luthfie Sulistiawan, stated that the case was uncovered during the UTBK SNBT at the Unesa Rectorate Building, 4th Floor, Jalan Lidah Wetan, on 21 April 2026.

“From the examination results so far, there is no involvement from the university side in this impersonation during the student selection entrance exam,” Luthfie said.

Luthfie added that this impersonation syndicate did not only target campuses in East Java but also West Java, Central Java, and even off the island.

“We found that there is still another network, coordinated by someone with the initial K, as part of the same syndicate. For this K network, K himself has been secured by us and is currently under examination; the results will be released later,” he added.
