14 Finalists Compete in West Jakarta's 2026 GenRe Ambassador Selection

Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 14 participants competed in the grand final of the 2026 West Jakarta Generasi Berencana (GenRe) Ambassador selection at the mayor’s office on Thursday. The Head of the West Jakarta Sub-department for Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP), Dian Anggraini Susanthy, stated that registration for the West Jakarta GenRe Ambassador selection was open from 8 April to 30 June 2026. “A total of 78 participants registered. After undergoing a series of selection stages, 14 finalists were selected to take part in the grand final,” Dian said. The participants are students who are members of the Youth Information and Counselling Centre (PIK-R) as well as non-PIK-R students. “The West Jakarta GenRe Ambassador selection is an annual agenda as part of efforts to support the Generasi Berencana programme, which aims to shape teenagers who have character, excel, and can become pioneers and role models,” Dian explained. As part of the series of activities, the West Jakarta GenRe Forum held a Jamboree of Creativity in 2026 at the Utama RPTRA in Cengkareng, which was attended by 67 PIK-R members. “This annual activity aims to increase capacity, strengthen togetherness, and reinforce networks among PIK-R members in West Jakarta,” she said. She added that the event demonstrated the increasing emotional and intellectual awareness among West Jakarta’s youth regarding the importance of preparing for a structured life from an early age. Through the GenRe programme, the younger generation is invited to understand and carefully plan their futures, covering education, career, and family life. “Our young generation increasingly understands that they need to prepare for their future by planning well from an early age,” she noted. Meanwhile, the Secretary of West Jakarta City, Firmanudin Ibrahim, expressed his appreciation for the event as a platform to cultivate a brilliant young generation. “The selection of West Jakarta GenRe Ambassadors is a collective effort to nurture a young generation that is not only accomplished but also aware of the importance of planning for the future, maintaining health, building quality families, and being role models in community life,” he added.
