The Jakarta Provincial Transport Department (Dishub) has deployed 135 personnel to secure the 2026 National Dhikr and Prayer event at the National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (1/8). Held in celebration of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, the event is supported by situational traffic engineering and the provision of 19 designated parking areas.

The Head of the Jakarta Transport Department, Budi Awaluddin, stated that personnel are stationed at various strategic points to regulate traffic flow and serve the public. The management is scheduled to take place from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM WIB.

“We have deployed 135 personnel to manage traffic and provide services to the public. We urge the community to adjust their travel routes and make use of public transport as well as the provided parking areas,” Budi said in his statement.

Traffic diversions will be implemented situationally based on real-time congestion levels. Diversions are prepared from several main directions, including the Harmoni, Bundaran HI, Tanah Abang, and Tugu Tani areas, to minimise congestion around the Monas perimeter.

To accommodate participants’ vehicles, the Transport Department has provided 19 parking areas with a total capacity of 3,755 car spaces and 5,105 motorcycle spaces. Parking locations are spread across several points, including IRTI Monas, Gambir Station, National Gallery, PLN Central Building, National Library, Bank Indonesia, Istiqlal Mosque, and JIExpo Kemayoran.

Budi also encouraged the public to prioritise the use of public transportation. The Monas area can be accessed via Transjakarta Corridors 1, 2, and 3, as well as routes 1A, 1P, 5C, 6A, 6B, 7F, and 14A, with stops at Monas, City Hall, and Gambir.

For long-distance train passengers travelling to or from Gambir Station, an advisory has been issued to plan journeys earlier to avoid potential delays caused by increased traffic density around the event venue.
