135,117 passengers use Jakarta MRT over two days of Eid
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) recorded 135,117 passengers using Jakarta MRT services over the two days of Eid 1447 Hijriah. “135,117 passengers used Jakarta MRT services over the two days of Eid,” said Corporate Secretary Division Head of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Rendy Primartantyo in Jakarta on Wednesday. Rendy detailed that on the first day of Eid, Saturday (21/3), the number of Jakarta MRT passengers reached 51,189 people, higher than the same period in 2025 which reached 28,930 people. Meanwhile, on the second day of Eid, Sunday (22/3), the number of passengers was recorded at 83,928 people, an increase from 47,176 people the previous year. Overall, there was an increase of 59,011 passengers over those two days of Eid compared to the previous year. “This figure is an increase from the same period during Eid 2025 which reached 76,106 passengers,” he said. The increase in passenger numbers during the implementation of the special Rp1 fare this year compared to the previous year demonstrates the high enthusiasm of the public in using the public transport network for mobility in Jakarta, both on weekdays and during holiday periods. By prioritising ease of access and integration in service development, PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) believes that the increase in public transport ridership will continue, both on weekdays and during specific moments such as the implementation of special fares. During the Eid 1447 H holiday period, PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) implemented a weekend operational pattern with service hours from 05.00 to 24.00 WIB and train departure intervals of every 10 minutes. During that period, Jakarta MRT services continued to run optimally so that the public could enjoy safe, comfortable, and memorable journeys. In addition, Jakarta MRT also presented various lifestyle programmes, including promotions and attractive offers through the MyMRTJ app, as well as integrated feeder services to support the ease of public mobility.
