135,000 Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims Perform Dam Sacrifice via Adahi, Majority Distributed to Palestine

The execution of dam (hadyu) by Indonesian pilgrims during the 1447 Hijriyah/2026 AD Hajj season has achieved a significant milestone. Nearly 135,000 Indonesian pilgrims channelled their dam sacrifices through the official Adahi programme established by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In addition to ensuring safe and accountable management, the meat from this year’s dam animal slaughter was prioritised to assist the people of Palestine. M. Afief Mundzir, Coordinator of Worship Guidance and Dam for the Indonesian Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) in Saudi Arabia, personally inspected the slaughter facilities at Adahi, Makkah, following the peak of the Hajj rituals on Monday (1/6/2026).

According to Afief, the slaughtering process on the Day of Tarwiyah proceeded smoothly, serving as evidence that the Hajj services, now under the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, are capable of providing ease for Indonesian pilgrims. “Alhamdulillah, this year our pilgrims were able to channel their dam through the official channels established by the Saudi Arabian Kingdom authorities. The number is very large, and this serves as proof that Hajj services can be managed well, safely, comfortably, and accountably,” said Afief on Monday.

Based on collected data, the number of Indonesian pilgrims performing dam via Adahi reached approximately 135,000 people. This figure is considered highly significant, demonstrating the high level of trust pilgrims have in the official mechanisms provided by the Saudi government. The Director of Regular Hajj Pilgrims at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah emphasised that using official channels provides certainty that the slaughtering process is conducted in accordance with Sharia law, while ensuring that meat distribution is measured and accountable.
