13,000 fail entrance tests in Surabaya

SURABAYA: More than 13,000 students failed to pass the
entrance tests for state junior and senior high schools in
Surabaya, it was announced on Monday.

Around 8,000 students failed the tests for junior high
schools, while around 7,000 students failed those for senior high
schools.

The announcement of the results of the tests was made in local
newspapers and on the Internet.

The test organizing committee said a total of around 20,000
other students passed the tests, including 13,500 for junior high
schools.

It said the tests were participated in by 22,700 students for
junior high schools and 14,500 for senior high schools. --Antara
