13 Women Suspected Trafficking Victims Finally Meet West Java Governor in NTT

BANDUNG — Thirteen women suspected of being victims of human trafficking (TPPO) finally met West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) on Monday (23/2/2026). Dedi Mulyadi came to collect the victims, accompanied by the regents of Cianjur and Purwakarta along with the Jawa Barat Istimewa Legal Team.

Chairman of the Jawa Barat Istimewa Legal Team Foundation, Jutek Bongso, said the thirteen female trafficking victims would be brought home by the governor. He confirmed that the victims had already met with the governor. “Today they are being brought home by the Governor of West Java. They have already met with the governor,” he said whilst accompanying the entourage when contacted for confirmation on Monday (23/2/2026).

He added that his team would subsequently arrange preparations for the return of the thirteen victims to West Java. The 13 women originated from several regencies and cities across West Java and were suspected of being trafficking victims in the Sikka area of Nusa Tenggara Timur Province. They had been put to work in nightlife entertainment venues.

The women, ranging from their twenties to minors, had been successfully secured by a humanitarian volunteer team for Flores in Maumere, NTT. They were to be collected by the West Java Provincial Government and the West Java Regional Police on Friday (20/2/2026).

The victims were identified by their initials: IN from Bandung, JTP from Cianjur, DO from Cianjur, GAT from Bandung, R from Cianjur, YAP from Bandung, TRA from Cianjur, SS, CN from Indramayu, PN from Bandung, SK from Cianjur, N from Cianjur, and BS from Bandung.

Before being returned to their respective home regions, they will first undergo medical examinations and receive psychological support.

Previously, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi stated that the victims had been recruited with promises of salaries between Rp 8 million and Rp 10 million. However, they experienced fraud, violence, and sexual abuse.
