13 Violations Occur in SMP-Level Academic Ability Test, Including Social Media Live Streaming by Supervisors
The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has recorded 13 violations during the implementation of the Academic Ability Test (TKA) for junior secondary school level, which took place over the last two days.
Head of the Education Assessment Centre at Kemendikdasmen, Rahmawati, revealed that the majority of violations were committed by supervisors, while one case involved an examinee.
“The violations involved 12 supervisors and one student. We found some live streaming on social media. But unlike the high school level, during the live stream, they did not point at the computer screen but just showed themselves supervising and others without displaying the questions or taking photos,” said Rahmawati during the Media Meeting for the Implementation of the Academic Ability Test for SMP/MTs/equivalent levels in Bekasi City, West Java Province, on Tuesday (7/4).
Rahmawati explained that these violations were identified during the supervision process, including activities not in accordance with the rules such as live broadcasts on social media.
Meanwhile, Head of the Basic and Secondary Education Policy Agency at Kemendikdasmen, Toni Toharudin, added that the forms of violations by supervisors also included smoking and recording activities during the exam implementation, although without showing the TKA questions.
To maintain accountability, Kemendikdasmen records all incidents in every exam room. Thus, every form of violation will be followed up according to the official reports made in each classroom.
Regarding sanctions, Toni emphasised that the enforcement process will be carried out gradually based on the level of violation, involving the Inspectorate General in the assessment and decision-making.
“There is a levelling; we will see what the violations are like. When there are violations that will be decided later, it involves the Inspectorate General to analyse, review, and decide on the category of violation and what sanctions will be given. Yes, according to our SOP, depending on what the problem is, how severe it is,” said Toni.
He also mentioned that the duration of handling violations does not have a definite time limit, as it depends on the level of violation that occurs.
“But if the violation is minor, it can be quick. There is no set number of days to resolve it. Because the TKA period itself is long, from 6 to 30 April,” stated Toni.
