13 Startups Withstand Global Pressures: Strategies for Survival and Growth
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — As many as 13 startups from Indonesia and the region are deemed not only capable of surviving amid global pressures but also continuing to grow. Behind this performance lies a strategy emphasising resilience, efficiency, and the ability to adapt amid market changes.
Endeavor Indonesia states that these companies have made it onto the Endeavor Outliers 2026 list because they have managed to maintain growth while navigating business uncertainties.
“The Outliers from Indonesia serve as a reminder that building large-scale businesses from Indonesia is not only possible but achievable even amid various challenges,” said Managing Director of Endeavor Indonesia Monika Rudijono in her statement on Saturday (11/4/2026).
She added that the founders’ courage in making decisions at crucial moments is a differentiating factor.
This recognition is given to around 10 percent of the best companies in Endeavor’s global network, which includes more than 3,000 entrepreneurs in over 50 countries.
The assessment not only looks at the scale of the business but also the ability to manage risks, maintain efficiency, and sustain growth.
At the global level, Outliers 2026 includes 238 companies, among them 93 unicorns and 5 decacorns, with total funding exceeding 31 billion US dollars or approximately Rp 511.5 trillion in the last three years.
In addition, the companies also emphasise efficiency and profitability amid shifting funding dynamics. This step is important as the industry focus moves from aggressive expansion to strengthening business fundamentals.
On the other hand, the founders’ ability to make decisions at critical points, whether during rapid expansion or when strategy adjustments are needed, becomes a key factor in maintaining growth.
The Endeavor Outliers list itself includes a number of founders from various sectors, including Edward Tirtanata and James Prananto from Kopi Kenangan, Umang Rustagi and Akshay Garg from Kredivo, Vince Iswara from DANA, Achmad Zaky from Bukalapak, and Aldi Haryopratomo from GoPay.
The Outliers categories are divided based on growth stages, starting from Early Breakout with revenues of 30 million US dollars to 50 million US dollars, Scaling Up from 50 million US dollars to 100 million US dollars, Scaled & Growing above 100 million US dollars, to Multipliers with exits above 500 million US dollars.
