At the GrabX 2026 event held in the Sudirman area of Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4), Grab officially introduced a series of artificial intelligence (AI)-based innovations. Under the theme “Your Everyday Guide”, the company aims to transform its app into a more personal, efficient, and inclusive daily assistant for users, driver partners, and SMEs.
This launch marks Grab’s step to expand its app’s functions, not just as a transportation and delivery platform, but also as a digital companion for mobility, shopping, payments, and business operations.
Here is the list of Grab’s latest AI features introduced at GrabX 2026, along with their functions and availability status in Indonesia.
Group Ride allows multiple users with similar destinations to share one vehicle in a single trip. The concept is similar to Group Order, but applied to transportation services.
Each passenger can specify their own drop-off point, while the system automatically deducts payment based on the distance travelled. Grab claims this feature can save travel costs by up to 20 percent or more.
Currently, Group Ride is available in Indonesia through Grab’s Early Access Programme.
Through the Grab More feature, users can combine orders from two different merchants in one transaction without additional delivery fees.
Users order from the main restaurant first, then add items from a second nearby merchant. All orders are then paid for in a single checkout.
This feature is already available to all users in Indonesia.
Grab AI Assistant serves as an intelligent assistant that helps users find food recommendations based on preferences, dietary restrictions, and group size.
Grab states that this feature will arrive in Indonesia by the end of 2026.

Cloud Printer is available to help merchants print receipts and operational documents wirelessly via cloud connection.
With this system, order tickets can be printed directly in the kitchen area as soon as the order comes in, allowing the cooking process to start immediately. Once the order is ready, scanning the QR code will automatically notify the driver that the order is ready for pickup.
