Bogor Immigration has arrested 13 Japanese nationals suspected of conducting online scams in Sentul, Bogor, West Java. All the Japanese nationals will be deported the day after tomorrow.

“For the scammers in Bogor, they are planned to be deported on the 15th of this month,” said Deputy Head of Immigration Supervision Arief Eka Riyanto during a press conference at the Directorate General of Immigration office in South Jakarta on Monday (13/4/2026).

Arief confirmed that the repatriation process for the 13 Japanese nationals will be uploaded. The deportation process will be escorted by Indonesian government immigration officers and Japanese immigration officers.

It is known that the Class IA Non TPI Bogor Immigration Office uncovered an online scam syndicate carried out by foreign nationals in Sentul, Bogor, West Java. A total of 13 men holding Japanese citizenship were arrested.

“The 13 foreign nationals have been identified as Japanese citizens, suspected of carrying out cyber activities, allegedly online scamming in the form of extortion using Japanese police attributes, conducted in an organised manner,” said Acting Director General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Brigadier General Yuldi Yusman during a press conference at the Bogor Immigration office on Wednesday (4/3).

Yuldi stated that the 13 secured Japanese nationals are adult men aged 40-45 years. The perpetrators were also arrested for violating their residence permits while in Indonesia. The secured perpetrators have the initials SL, TY, TM, AO, MM, TA, SN, KN, TS, ST, SK, NK, and TO.

“One foreigner with the initials SL entered using a visa on arrival (VoA), and the other 12 used visit visas or D12 intended for pre-investment activities,” he said.
