13 foreigners' sentences reduced
DENPASAR, Bali: Jail terms of 13 foreign criminals, detained at the Denpasar prison, have been reduced by four to nine months, Antara reported on Thursday.
They are part of 357 convicted criminals who had their jail terms reduced in honor of Indonesia's 50th anniversary on Aug. 17.
Head of the Denpasar prison Rachman Narso said Robert Mario Brumniach from Australian walked out of his prison a free man after he received a nine-month remission.
Rachman said the foreigners receiving six-month remissions are Rana Bilal Anjun, a Pakistani; Sylla Banolliougion, a Malinese; John Donovan Kelly, an American; and Santa Bahadur Gurung, a Nepalese. While those receiving five-month remission are Mohamad Isian, also a Pakistani; Abdul Kalan, a Bangladesh citizen; Kwame Adjie, from Ghana; Peter Baeuw of Germany; Nabuyo Nikaido of Japan; and Bishnu Bahadur Karhi of Nepal.
The governor also gave four-month remissions to Gopal Prasad of Nepal and George Ezeudu of Nigeria, he said.(imn)
