13.59 million taxpayers file 2025 annual tax returns

The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) reported that the number of annual Income Tax Return (SPT) filings for the 2025 tax year reached 13,593,754 as of 24:00 WIB on 31 May 2026.

Inge Diana Rismawanti, Director of Tax Education, Services, and Public Relations at the DGT, stated that the majority of filings came from salaried individual taxpayers. “Based on taxpayers submitting SPT, the total reached 13,593,754 returns,” she said in a written statement on Monday, 1 June 2026.

Of the total, 10,962,917 SPT were filed by salaried individuals, while 1,504,209 were from non-salaried individuals. Corporate taxpayers submitted 1,079,466 returns in Indonesian rupiah and 1,724 in US dollars.

Meanwhile, oil and gas sector filings amounted to 17 returns in rupiah and 270 in US dollars.

For taxpayers with fiscal years different from January-December, who began filing from 1 August 2025, the DGT recorded 45,108 corporate returns in rupiah and 43 in US dollars.

In addition to SPT filings, the DGT reported progress in Coretax account activations. By end-May 2026, 19,502,020 tax accounts had been activated.

This comprised 18,264,418 individual taxpayers, 1,145,478 corporate taxpayers, 91,891 government institutions, and 233 electronic trading system (PMSE) taxpayers.
