128,000 Citizens Join 'Ticket War' for 81st Independence Day Ceremony at Palace on First Day
A total of 128,331 members of the public took part in the ticket war for the 81st Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at Merdeka Palace on the first day of registration, Wednesday (5/8).
The Palace stated that applicants came from 36 provinces across Indonesia and 14 countries.
“Alhamdulillah, public enthusiasm has been extraordinary. On the first day yesterday, 128,331 members of the public took part in the ticket war, spread across 36 provinces, and there were even participants from abroad, including the United States, Australia, Russia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Turkey, France, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia,” said Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi in his statement on Thursday (6/8).
Pras expressed his appreciation to all members of the public who had participated in the competition for the invitations.
He said the high level of public interest reflected the spirit of nationalism and enthusiasm to witness firsthand the Commemoration Ceremony of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
Pras also apologised to members of the public who had not yet succeeded in obtaining an invitation.
“We apologise to members of the public who did not get the opportunity to obtain an invitation yesterday. Today (6/8) at 10.00 WIB, the ticket war will be opened again. So the public need not worry,” he said.
The ticket war for the 81st Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at Merdeka Palace is open for three days, from Wednesday (5/8) to Friday (7/8). Registration opens each day at 10.00 WIB.
Members of the public can register through the Pandang Istana website (https://pandang.istanapresiden.go.id), which can be accessed from today.
When registering, members of the public need to prepare a number of documents and data before completing registration.
These documents and data include an identity card (KTP/KIA), an active email address, an active telephone number, and a recent formal selfie while holding an identity document (KTP/KIA).
Separately, Deputy Minister of State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro said that the invitations for the public numbered around 8,100 people.
“It will be attended by at least 8,100 people as a symbol of the commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Juri at a press conference at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Friday (31/7).
In addition to the flag ceremony, Juri said that on the same day the government would also hold a people’s party at the National Monument.
Juri said the people’s party at Monas would be enlivened with a variety of activities, ranging from a public entertainment stage, traditional competitions typical of 17 August celebrations, local MSME booths, to the provision of 500,000 free meals.
