The evacuation of passengers from the fire-stricken ferry KMP Mutiara Sentosa II is progressing, with 122 survivors safely brought ashore as of early Monday morning. Surabaya SAR Office Chief Nanang Sigit PH, who is serving as the SAR Mission Coordinator, confirmed that 113 survivors were evacuated via Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya, while a further nine were transported to Kalianget Port in Sumenep.

“We prioritised the disembarkation of 111 survivors from the KM Meratus Pematang Siantar. They were then taken directly to the Gapura Surya Nusantara Terminal for the registration process by joint officers,” Nanang stated in Surabaya. Upon arrival, all survivors received immediate and intensive medical examinations.

Nanang added that survivors requiring further medical treatment have been referred to the nearest hospitals. In Sumenep, four survivors were taken to Garam Hospital. The search and rescue operation remains ongoing, with three additional vessels—KM Ferindo 1, Selaras Mas, and KRI Nala-363—still en route to Surabaya carrying more evacuees.
