120 Officers Deployed to Secure Eid Exodus Flow at Kampung Rambutan Terminal
Jakarta (ANTARA) - As many as 120 officers have been mobilised to maintain security and smooth traffic flow for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr exodus at Kampung Rambutan Terminal in East Jakarta. The security personnel deployed consist of a joint team from the National Police (Polri), Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Transportation Agency (Dishub), Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), Fire Department, and Boy Scouts. “For today (the number of personnel on standby) is 120 people. Comprising TNI, Polri, Dishub, then Satpol PP, Fire Department, Senkom, and Boy Scouts,” said Head of Kampung Rambutan Terminal Revi Zulkarnain in Jakarta on Wednesday. He explained that the security officers have also set up a main service post located in the centre of the terminal as well as six additional posts at several strategic points such as passenger movement and gathering areas. “For example, on the Sumatra departure route, then on the West Java route, then on the Central Java route, then at the terminal entrance so that passenger movement points and passenger gathering places are supervised by officers there,” Revi stated. In addition to the security posts, Kampung Rambutan Terminal also provides ramp check posts to test the operational fitness of exodus vehicles and driver health posts. The terminal management has also added other support facilities such as waiting rooms, lactation rooms for breastfeeding mothers, and free massage facilities for passengers. “This massage facility is uniquely staffed by visually impaired friends from the Social Services Agency who are empowered there,” Revi said. The peak of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr exodus at Kampung Rambutan Terminal is estimated to occur today, Wednesday. Up to 13:00, 3,018 passengers departed from Kampung Rambutan Terminal. It is predicted that the total number of departing passengers until tonight will range between 4,000 and 5,000 people. “The favourite destinations for returnees remain the same, including Surabaya, Malang, then Purwokerto, Pekalongan, Tegal, Cilacap, Yogyakarta. For West Java, Tasikmalaya, Garut, Cianjur, and for Sumatra, Padang and Palembang,” Revi added.
