Karawang, West Java (ANTARA) - PT Jasa Marga projects that 120,000 vehicles will pass through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT Cikatama) in Karawang, West Java, during the peak of the Lebaran return flow in 2026.

Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasa Marga Trans Jawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paalo, stated that the Jasa Marga Group, through PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT), predicts the peak Lebaran return flow will occur on 24 March 2026.

“Our projection is that 24 March will be the peak return flow, with around 120,000 vehicles expected to transact at the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT Cikatama),” said Ria during an interview at the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate office on Tuesday.

Ria also reported that based on traffic volume monitoring, it reached 4,000 vehicles per hour passing through GT Cikatama between 10 am and noon.

“As of today, from 10 am to noon, the traffic volume passing through the Cikampek Utama toll gate has already reached 4,000 per hour. Since morning, we have operated 22 lanes,” she added.

Ria further noted that GT Cikatama previously participated in the barrier to welcome road users following the local one-way route from KM 263 of the Brebes Barat Toll to KM 70 of GT Cikatama.

Previously, Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi urged mudik participants to avoid the peak Lebaran return flow on 24, 28, and 29 March 2026.

“To that end, we urge the public to return to Jabotabek on 23 March 2026 by utilising collective leave, or during the period of 25-27 March 2025 by taking advantage of the government’s Work From Anywhere initiative,” he stated in a press release in Jakarta on Sunday.
