A 12-year-old primary school pupil in Makassar, South Sulawesi, was found dead naked in an abandoned house. The girl is suspected to be a murder victim.

Her body was discovered by locals in a derelict house in Tallo district on Wednesday (27/5/2026) early morning. The victim’s father, identified as S (54), stated his daughter had not returned home since Tuesday (26/5) evening.

“I knew she wasn’t playing outside. I came back from driving a motorcycle taxi, told her mother and sister to look for her because she hadn’t returned by 10pm. Her mother had just got home from work and said she wasn’t outside,” S said.

According to the father, he and neighbours had passed the abandoned house during the search but did not enter as they didn’t suspect anyone was inside.

“That’s why I asked friends to search. We kept walking past that place (the derelict house) without realising. We searched from last night until dawn, with other locals joining in,” he said.

After fruitless searches, locals went home, but the body was later found by a young man at dawn.

“Early this morning, after praying at the mosque, we heard a body was found in the abandoned house. A youth named Kevin saw it while urinating. He told others, who then informed me and neighbours,” he added.

S said his daughter was found naked, with a broken television covering her body.

“The condition was she was covered by a broken TV, completely naked,” he explained.

He also mentioned cuts on her wrist were present when she was discovered.
