12 Tulungagung Officials Caught in KPK Sting Operation, Transported to Juanda Airport by Bus

Dozens of officials from the Tulungagung Regency Government were escorted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) from Jakarta after undergoing marathon examinations at the local police station. They were transported by Harapan Jaya bus to Juanda Airport to be taken to Jakarta. According to detikJatim on Saturday (11/3/2026), before departure, several families of the officials were seen arriving at Tulungagung Police Station, bringing suitcases and changes of clothes. The group of officials departed for Juanda Airport in Sidoarjo at 06:30 WIB. Information gathered by detikJatim indicates that the number of officials being taken to Jakarta totals 12 people. Meanwhile, four other officials were examined but not taken to Jakarta. “There were 12 people taken by bus just now,” said one internal source from Tulungagung Police Station on Saturday (11/4/2026). Previously, KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed the KPK’s activities in Tulungagung. His side stated that dozens of people had been secured, including Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo. “It’s true, tonight the KPK is conducting a covert investigation operation in the East Java region. The team has secured several people, one of whom is the Regent of Tulungagung,” said Budi.
