12 subdistricts in Pekalongan prone to flooding

PEKALONGAN, Central Java: Some 12 subdistricts in the
Pekalongan regency, Central Java, are prone to flooding and
landslides.

"We call on locals to stay alert in case of worse floods and
landslides in the future," Pekalongan Regent Amat Antono said
here on Tuesday.

The 12 subdistricts prone to flooding are Karang Dadap, Tirto,
Bojong, Siwalan, Wonokerto, Talun, Buaran, Sragi, Kesesi, and
Wonopringgo while the ones prone to landslides are Doro, Kandang
Serang, Kesesi and Kajen.

He said the recent flooding and landslides had damaged 882
hectares of rice fields and inundated 6,400 houses, causing Rp
4.1 billion in material losses to the government. --Antara
