12 North Jakarta Coastal Areas Threatened by Tidal Flooding Until 9 April 2026
JAKARTA - The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD DKI Jakarta) has issued an early warning regarding the potential for coastal flooding (rob) in the northern coastal areas of Jakarta, expected to occur from Sunday (5/4/2026) to Thursday (9/4/2026). The head of the BPBD DKI Jakarta Data and Information Centre, Mohamad Yohan, stated that the warning is based on information from the Class I Maritime Meteorology Station in Tanjung Priok. Yohan mentioned that residents should be alert for 12 areas at risk of tidal flooding, including Kamal Muara, Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, Pluit, Ancol, Kamal, Marunda, Cilincing, Kalibaru, Muara Angke, Tanjung Priok, and the Thousand Islands. He advised the public to anticipate the impacts of maximum sea level rise that could cause coastal flooding.
