12 new aides name for Vice President

JAKARTA (JP): Minister/State Secretary Saadilah Mursjid swore in yesterday 16 high-ranking officials including 12 new aides for Vice President B.J. Habibie.

Former Armed Forces sociopolitical affairs chief Lt. Gen. Muhammad Yunus Yosfiah was installed as the Secretary of Development Operations, replacing AM Hendro Priyono who was appointed transmigration minister in March.

Lt. Gen. (ret) Z.A. Maulani was appointed the Vice President's Secretary.

In addition to Maulani, Habibie will also be assisted in his daily duties by seven assistants and four experts. Habibie's predecessor Try Sutrisno only had six aides.

Six of them are noted members of the Association of Indonesian Moslem Intellectuals. Habibie was the chairman of the association until his election to his current post in March.

The new aides are:

* Maj. Gen. Sulatin Umar, as assistant for political and security affairs.

* Fuadi Rasjid, assistant for economy, finance and industry.

* Sofian Effendi, assistant for development supervision and state apparatus empowerment.

* Lt. Gen. (ret) Sintong Panjaitan, expert on security and defense.

* Jimly Assidiqie, assistant for people's welfare and poverty alleviation.

* Dewi Fortuna Anwar, assistant for globalization affairs.

* Martiono Hadianto, assistant for industrial harmonization.

* Ahmad Watik Pratiknya, assistant for national unity and cohesion.

* Gunawan Hadisusilo, expert on Natuna and Barelang development.

* Laode Masihu Kamaluddin, expert for development beyond Java Bali.

* Harijono Djojodihardjo, expert on aerospace.

Saadilah himself also got three new experts; Soesilo, Soeprapto, and Soeratno Siradj. (prb)
