12 ministers to visit Atambua
ATAMBUA, East Nusa Tenggara: Twelve cabinet ministers will visit Atambua in Belu regency next Wednesday to take a closer look at the East Nusa Tenggara town, which borders the newly born country of East Timor.
Belu administration secretary Charles Bissinglasi said on Friday that the delegation would not visit refugees camps nor assess the economic potential of the regency.
Charles said he hoped the ministers would give attention to the empowerment of ex-East Timorese refugees.
The visiting ministers are: Minister of Health Achmad Sujudi; Minister of Forestry Mohammad Prakosa; Minister of Religious Affairs Said Agil Munawar; Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Jacob Nuwa Wea; Minister of Social Affairs Bachtiar Chamsyah; Minister of National Education Abdul Malik Fajar; Minister of Resettlement and Regional Infrastructure Sunarno; State Minister of Administrative Reforms Feisal Tamin; State Minister of Research and Technology Hatta Radjasa; State Minister of Tourism and Culture I Gede Ardhika; State Minister of the Acceleration of Development in Eastern Indonesia Manuel Kaisiepo; and State Minister of the Environment Nabiel Makarim.
The ministers will be in Atambua from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. before leaving for Papua and Ambon, the capital of Maluku.--Antara
