12-Metre Landslide Cancels Cianjur-Sukabumi Train Services
The railway line connecting Cipatat Station in West Bandung Regency (KBB) with Cianjur Regency, West Java, experienced a landslide on Sunday (19/4/2026) at around 7:55 PM WIB. As a result, several train services on the Cianjur-Sukabumi route were cancelled. The landslide occurred between KM 73+900 and 74+00 on the Cibeber-Lampegan section. Upon inspection, officials discovered that the track structure was non-compliant and posed a potential danger to train safety. “Based on the inspection results, the line is temporarily deemed unsafe for train operations,” said Kuswardoyo, Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 2 Bandung, when contacted in West Bandung Regency on Monday (20/4/2026). According to him, the length of the gogosan—or the eroded, collapsed, or holed soil and embankment beneath the railway track due to water flow—reached 12 metres in length and 4 metres in depth. Therefore, the track is currently unsafe for trains to pass.
