12 kg Elpiji Price Rises to Rp228,000, 5.5 kg LPG Also Surges

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has officially raised the price of non-subsidised Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in 12 kg cylinders to Rp228,000 per cylinder. Previously, the 12 kg LPG price stood at Rp192,000 per cylinder, resulting in an increase of Rp36,000 or approximately 18.75%. This marks the first price adjustment since 2023, following a previous reduction in non-subsidised LPG prices in November 2023. Based on information from the official Pertamina Patra Niaga website accessed in Jakarta on Sunday, 19 April 2026, the new price of Rp228,000 per 12 kg cylinder applies to the regions of Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, and West Nusa Tenggara. Meanwhile, other provinces are also experiencing price adjustments in line with distribution costs to each respective area. Not only the 12 kg LPG, Pertamina has also increased the price of non-subsidised 5.5 kg LPG. The previous price of Rp90,000 per cylinder has now risen to Rp107,000 per cylinder, an increase of around 18.89%. The 5.5 kg LPG price also applies to the regions of Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, and West Nusa Tenggara. Similar to the 12 kg LPG, prices in other areas are adjusted based on distribution costs to each region. This price adjustment officially takes effect from 18 April 2026. The increase represents the first price change since November 2023. At that time, Pertamina had lowered the 12 kg LPG price to Rp192,000 per cylinder, a decrease of Rp12,000 from the previous price. Irto Ginting, then serving as Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, explained that the price adjustment was made after evaluating the Aramco Contract Price (CPA) trend for the November 2023 period. Irto Ginting stated that the LPG price adjustment was carried out following an evaluation of the Aramco Contract Price (CPA) trend for the November 2023 period, where the rupiah per kilogram (Rp/kg) price experienced a decline due to the weakening of the US dollar exchange rate against the rupiah. On the other hand, the current LPG price increase is also influenced by the surge in global crude oil prices, which continues to rise.
