12 Jakarta Areas on Alert for Coastal Flooding Until 3 July

A number of areas in Jakarta are at risk of coastal flooding until early July, prompting a warning for residents to remain alert. According to official information from the Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), the coastal flood warning for 12 areas is in effect from 24 June to 3 July 2026. Based on information from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) regarding the Early Warning for Coastal Flooding (Rob) for 24 June to 3 July 2026, the phenomenon of maximum sea tides coinciding with the full moon phase has the potential to increase the maximum sea level, resulting in coastal flooding or ‘rob’ in the northern coastal areas of Jakarta. Residents along the north coast of Jakarta are urged to anticipate these impacts. The peak of the maximum tide will occur between 19:00 and 00:00 WIB in the following areas: Kamal Muara, Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, Pluit, Ancol, Kamal, Marunda, Cilincing, Kalibaru, Muara Angke, Tanjung Priok, and the Seribu Islands.
