12 Himpala members detained
The South Jakarta police detained 12 students from the Nature Lovers Association (Himpala) of the National University on Thursday for allegedly burning and damaging the command post of the university's student regiment.
Police chief, Lt. Col. Silvanus Julian Wenas, said over the weekend that the dossiers of the 12 students will be completed within the next few days.
The suspects will face a maximum prison term of five and a half years if found guilty of damaging the facility.
After completing the dossiers, police will start investigating the beating of a number of the regiment's members, also by the Himpala members.
Five members of the regiment were wounded during the heated clash on Tuesday. (bsr)
