The Ministry of Transportation has dispatched 12 free return buses from Tirtonadi Terminal in Solo on Wednesday (25/3/2026), transporting a total of 570 passengers. This departure is part of the free repatriation programme organised by the Ministry of Transportation to ensure the smooth flow of Lebaran 2026 return traffic while providing safe and comfortable public services.

The Head of Type A Tirtonadi Terminal, Joko Umboro Jati, explained that all vehicles have undergone a fitness inspection (ramp check) before departure to guarantee passenger safety and comfort.

“The release of these 12 repatriation buses for the Lebaran return flow carries 570 passengers. All vehicles have gone through the fitness inspection process (ramp check) to ensure aspects of safety and comfort,” stated Joko Umboro Jati during the departure event.

Attending the release event were the Mayor of Solo, Respati Ardi, the Surakarta Police Chief, Commissioner Catur Cahyono Wibowo, and the Head of the Solo Transportation Department, Taufiq Muhammad.

Solo’s Mayor, Respati Ardi, appreciated the Ministry of Transportation’s free repatriation programme and even held a quiz with THR prizes for the repatriates returning to major cities in the Jabodetabek area. According to Respati, this programme greatly assists the community by reducing travel cost burdens while improving passenger safety and comfort.

One of the free return programme participants, Faisal, admitted feeling helped by this programme. He repatriated with his family to Karanganyar Regency.

“I repatriated with four people, with my wife and child, so it can save more expenses. I’ve joined three times already,” said Faisal.

The participants hope that next year the free repatriation fleet can be increased and reach more cities so that more people can benefit from it.
