12.7 Million Taxpayers Have Filed Annual Returns, Tax Chief: Those Who Haven't Are Still Awaited!

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance has recorded 12,705,335 taxpayers who have submitted their annual Notification Letters (SPT) as of 30 April 2026 at 13:00 WIB. This figure consists of 11,933,994 individual income tax (OP) SPTs and 771,341 corporate SPTs.

As is known, today is the final day of the extended reporting period for annual individual income tax (PPh) and corporate income tax (PPh).

“So we are still very much awaiting the submission of individual PPh SPTs, corporate PPh SPTs, and VAT SPTs for today,” said the Director General of Taxes of the Ministry of Finance, Bimo Wijayanto, at the Central Jakarta Madya Tax Office, Thursday (30/4/2026).

The Directorate General of Taxes is also considering providing sanctions relief for late submission of annual Notification Letters (SPT) for corporate taxpayers, for the tax year to be reported in 2025, extending from one to the end of May 2026.

This planned relief follows the previous application for individual taxpayers reporting SPTs after the 31 March 2026 deadline, as stipulated in the Director General of Taxes Decision Number KEP-55/PJ/2026.

Bimo stated that this relief, aimed at corporate taxpayers, is a direct instruction from Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.

“And he has instructed us to consider relief for the submission of annual corporate PPh SPTs,” said Bimo in Jakarta, Thursday (30/4/2026).

According to Bimo, the DJP is currently formulating the legal basis for granting the relief on the reporting deadline for corporate taxpayers’ SPTs, which was originally set to end on 30 April 2026.

“This is being processed for the extension of the reporting period. We will release it soon, while the extension of payment relief is still being calculated and analysed,” he explained.
