Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, has predicted that the number of returnees to the city following Eid al-Fitr this year will reach approximately 10,000 to 12,000 people.

“Based on the data available up to today, we predict there will be an increase in Eid returnees who are coming back to Jakarta with their relatives, around 10,000 to 12,000,” Pramono explained, as quoted from Antara on Friday (27/3).

Nevertheless, Pramono stressed that this figure is still provisional and not final. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will continue to monitor developments in the field data.

He explained that the estimate is based on societal movement trends, including transportation booking data and residents returning to Jakarta with their families.

“Why can we conclude this? From the trends of people booking vehicles or those travelling with their families and so on,” Pramono said.

Pramono also reminded migrants seeking their fortune in the capital to prepare themselves well, particularly in terms of work skills.

“Jakarta has no justice operations, but Jakarta certainly asks anyone who wants to seek their fortune by working in Jakarta to prepare themselves,” he stated.

As quoted from Antara, the number of migrants recorded on 25–26 March 2026 was 365 people, consisting of 186 men and 179 women.

Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung emphasised that Jakarta remains open to post-Eid migrants without justice operations. However, migrants are urged to have the capacity.
