12,000 Migrants Predicted to Arrive in Jakarta, Pramono Says This
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has predicted the number of newcomers to Jakarta after Lebaran. He estimates that there will be 12,000 mudik participants who bring relatives back to Jakarta.
“So, the data available up to today, we predict, we estimate, there will be an increase of approximately 10,000 to 12,000 mudik participants who return to Jakarta with their relatives,” Pramono told reporters at Halte Tosari, Central Jakarta, on Friday (27/3/2026).
Pramono stated that the data is not yet final. The preliminary conclusion is based on vehicle bookings or those travelling with family.
“But this is not final yet, we will see the available data later. Because why, this can be concluded like that from vehicle bookings or those who join with their families and so on,” he explained.
Pramono also advised anyone planning to come to Jakarta. Pramono reminded those who wish to seek their fortune to prepare themselves.
“And we always ask anyone who will come to Jakarta, once again, to prepare themselves. Jakarta has no justitia operations, but Jakarta certainly asks anyone who wants to seek their fortune working in Jakarta to prepare themselves,” he concluded.
