KANTOR Pertanahan Kota Tangerang Selatan (Kantah Tangsel) joined the 118th National Awakening Day (Harkitnas) ceremony at the Regional Office of the National Land Agency (BPN) in Banten Province, on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. This year’s Harkitnas theme, ‘Jaga Tunas Bangsa Demi Kedaulatan Negara’ (Guard the Nation’s Offspring for National Sovereignty), emphasises the importance of national independence through safeguarding and developing the younger generation as the foundation of Indonesia’s future. The ceremony was led by Adhi Maskawan, Head of Administration at the Kanwil BPN Provinsi Banten, together with officials and staff from the Kanwil BPN Provinsi Banten and representatives of Kantah across Banten Province. Regarding Harkitnas, Kantah Tangsel head Seto Apriyadi stated that the 118th Harkitnas must be reflected in a real improvement of civil servant work ethos. He said that under the Theme ‘Jaga Tunas Bangsa’ this is aligned with the responsibility to continue building an ecosystem of public service that is integrated. ‘The spirit of national awakening must materialise in a firmer commitment to service. The values of national sovereignty in the land sector can be achieved through legal certainty of the community’s land rights,’ said Seto Apriyadi. Seto urged all levels at Kantah Tangsel to keep leaping forward, shed the linear working culture, and maximise the adoption of digital technology to realise a public land service that is “Pasti” (certain) — i.e., Professional, Accountable, Synergistic, Transparent and Innovative. (H-2) Deputy Minister Fajar Riza Ul Haq emphasised that President Prabowo’s education policy, including the revitalisation of 71,000 schools, is the new spirit of National Awakening Day. In this year’s Harkitnas, government attention also focused on protecting children in the digital space through the full implementation of PP Tunas. National Awakening Day is not merely a historical commemoration, but a reminder of the birth of national consciousness through Boedi Oetomo in 1908. The observance, referring to Boedi Oetomo’s birth in 1908, should be interpreted more broadly as a milestone in Indonesia’s national consciousness. He also urged all elements of Indonesian society to awaken a collective consciousness to uphold unity, nurture, and advance Indonesia.
