117 MSMEs and Culinary Vendors to Participate in Independence Day Exhibition in Karangasem
The Karangasem Regency Government (Pemkab) will hold an MSME and culinary exhibition in celebration of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia (RI). The exhibition will run for six days, from 12 to 17 August 2026, at Taman AA Karang Chandra Bhuana.
A total of 117 MSMEs and culinary vendors will take part in the exhibition. The breakdown is 34 MSMEs and 83 vendors of distinctive Karangasem cuisine, ranging from Sidemen endek fabric and Pegringsingan weaving to babi guling, which has consistently sold well at every exhibition.
Head of the Karangasem Cooperatives, MSMEs, Industry and Trade Office (Diskoperindag) Tjokorda Surya Darma said the 83 culinary vendors joining the development exhibition are local culinary businesses distinctive to Karangasem.
“The locations have also been designated so that they are better organised, so it will not be chaotic between satay sellers, nasi campur sellers and others,” said Surya Darma on Monday (10/8/2026).
Surya Darma said his office is working to minimise plastic waste during the exhibition, given the predicted large number of visitors. All vendors have also been asked to provide rubbish bins at their respective culinary stands.
“Later, the daily sales results at each stand will also be reported to us, so that the economic turnover during the exhibition can be determined,” said Surya Darma.
Meanwhile, Head of the Karangasem Communication and Informatics Office (Diskominfo) Ida Nyoman Astawa, as the leading sector for MSMEs, said 34 MSMEs will take part in the 81st Independence Day development exhibition in Karangasem. These MSMEs come from each sub-district and relevant regional apparatus organisations (OPD).
“What is exhibited are the flagship products from each sub-district, with additional contributions from several OPDs and other parties,” said Astawa.
He expressed hope that through the development exhibition, Karangasem’s flagship products will become better known and attract more buyers. In this way, MSME players can earn profits from their sales.
