115 killed in traffic accidents

PEKALONGAN, Central Java: At least 115 people have been killed in traffic accidents this year along the 160 kilometer-long northern coastal roads between Brebes and Batang regencies, a local police officer has said.

Most of the accidents were caused by human error, particularly drivers' fatigue, Antara reported last Thursday.

"At least 87 people were also seriously injured and 86 others slightly wounded in traffic accidents here," chief of Pekalongan's police precinct Maj. Triyanto said. (prb)
