Eleven villages in five subdistricts of Sragen Regency have been flooded since Wednesday night (4 March 2026) due to moderate rainfall and overflow from several Bengawan Solo River tributaries. Sragen Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) head Triyono said that the area has been drenched by rain since 8:00 PM WIB, and upstream rainfall has increased discharge, causing the tributaries to overflow into settlements and submerge village road access, according to detikJateng on Thursday (5 March 2026). He noted that 11 villages across Ngrampal, Sragen, Sidoharjo, Masaran, and Sambungmacan districts were affected, with conditions now starting to ease. In Desa Bener, specifically RT 24, 25, and 26, 83 houses were inundated with water up to 30 cm in height. The total number of affected residents at the site reached 83 households, or around 280 people. To date, no evacuations have been reported; the floodwaters mainly covered village access roads with depths ranging from 10 cm to 50 cm. “We have issued guidance to residents to stay vigilant. If the water discharge continues to rise, we urge residents to secure valuable items, switch off electrical supplies, and prepare to evacuate to higher ground,” he said. Read the full report here.
