Jakarta – Indonesia’s Finance Minister, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, reported that the distribution of Holiday Allowances (THR) to civil servants has reached 11 trillion rupiah as of Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

He explained that although the THR budget for civil servants has been prepared and is ready for disbursement, not all allowances have been distributed in full.

Purbaya acknowledged that the delay is due to some government agencies not yet submitting requests for fund disbursement to the Ministry of Finance.

“It’s been prepared. Some haven’t submitted requests yet. But once they do submit, everything should be complete, so there shouldn’t be any obstacles,” Purbaya said at the Ministry of Finance in Jakarta on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

“Unless the civil service department hasn’t asked us (the Ministry of Finance) yet, because they have to make a request,” he added.

Purbaya confirmed that disbursement delays are typically caused by the timing of requests from individual agencies, and not due to a shortage of government funds.

“It’s not that the money isn’t available. Sometimes the office hasn’t asked us for it yet,” he said.

The government had previously announced it had set aside 55 trillion rupiah to pay THR to civil servants in 2026. This budget is allocated for central civil servants, regional civil servants, government employees on contract (PPPK), military and police personnel, and retirees.

The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, stated that the 2026 THR budget increased by approximately 10 per cent compared to the previous year’s 49 trillion rupiah. THR disbursement is carried out in phases starting from 26 February 2026 until at latest seven days before Eid al-Fitr.

Airlangga detailed that THR will be distributed to 2.4 million central civil servants and military and police personnel with a total budget of 22.2 trillion rupiah. Subsequently, 4.3 million regional civil servants will receive THR totalling 20.2 trillion rupiah, whilst 3.8 million retirees will receive an allocation of 12.7 trillion rupiah.

He added that THR components are paid in full, covering basic salary, family allowance, meal allowance, position allowance, and performance allowance in accordance with applicable regulations. Airlangga also clarified that THR is different from the 13th month salary, which is typically paid in June each year.
