11 men questioned over land dispute
JAKARTA (JP): Police are questioning eleven people who where involved in a recent physical clash over a highly disputed 30 hectare plot of land at Cijayanti village in Bogor, West Java.
Bogor police chief Lt. Col. Nono Supriyono told Antara on Tuesday that the clash, which left several people wounded, was caused by a dispute between developers PT Fajar Marga Permai (FMP) and PT Lighti Istrumenindo (LI) over the ownership of the land.
Both developers reportedly obtained permits from the Bogor administration to appropriate the land and construct a luxury housing complex and a golf course.
The clash occurred when officials from both sides inspected the land. The free-for-all involved many people and left 11 people injured, mostly from PT LI.
The company's marketing office was also burned by officials from the rival developer. (bas)
